The sins[]
There are seven great sins that each represent qualities that are undesireable and will add to whether a mortal should be sent to Hell. The sins represent feelings rather than actions since mortals are judged not on what they have done in their lives, but why.
The sins have each manifested themselves in a spirit creature. Each of these spirit creatures rule over a circle of Hell.
